The Extension stores one preference setting locally on your device:

• Language Preference: Your selected translation language (e.g., "Spanish", "French", "Never translate")

This is not personal data collection. This setting:

• Remains on your device at all times
• Is never transmitted to any server
• Is only accessible by this Extension
• Is automatically deleted when you uninstall the Extension

2.2 What We Actually Collect

Nothing. We do not collect, receive, or have access to any data from your device. The language preference is stored by your browser locally and never leaves your computer.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

The Extension does not collect, store, transmit, or process:

• Personal identification information (name, email, address, etc.)
• Browsing history or activity
• Reddit account information
• IP addresses or device identifiers
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Cookies or tracking pixels
• Any other personal or non-personal data

4. How the Extension Works

Reddit Translation Options operates entirely client-side:

1. You select your preferred language in the Extension popup
2. The Extension stores this preference locally
3. When you visit Reddit, the Extension adds a URL parameter (?tl=language) to enable Reddit's native translation feature
4. All translation is performed by Reddit's own servers, not by this Extension

The Extension functions completely offline after installation and requires no internet connectivity to operate.

5. Third-Party Services

This Extension does not integrate with, connect to, or transmit data to any third-party services, including:

• Analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics)
• Advertising networks
• External servers or databases
• Social media platforms

Note: Reddit itself may collect data when you use their website. Please refer to Reddit's Privacy Policy for information about their data practices. This Extension does not have access to or control over Reddit's data collection.

6. Data Security

Since the Extension stores data only locally and does not transmit any information, your data is protected by:

• Chrome's built-in security mechanisms
• Your device's security settings
• The Extension's isolated storage, which other extensions and websites cannot access

7. Permissions Explanation

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage: To save your language preference locally
• declarativeNetRequest: To add the language parameter to Reddit URLs
• webNavigation: To detect when Reddit redirects occur (for unsupported languages)
• tabs: To refresh the current tab when you change language settings
• Host permission (reddit.com): To modify Reddit URLs only

These permissions are used solely for the Extension's core functionality and not for data collection.

8. Children's Privacy

This Extension does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we collect no personal data, the Extension is safe for users of all ages.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data, there is no data to access, modify, or delete from our systems. You may:

• View your locally stored language preference at any time through the Extension popup
• Change your language preference at any time
• Delete all Extension data by uninstalling the Extension
